As the World Burns: 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Stay in Denial

As the World Burns: 50 Simple Things You Can Do to Stay in Denial

Two of America’s most talented activists team up to deliver a bold and hilarious satire of modern environmental policy in this fully illustrated graphic novel. The US government gives robot machines from space permission to eat the earth in exchange for bricks of gold. A one-eyed bunny rescues his friends from a corporate animal testing laboratory. And two little girls figure out the secret to saving the world from both of its enemies (and it isn’t by using energy-efficient light bulbs or biodiesel fuel). As the World Burns will inspire you to do whatever it takes to stop ecocide before it’s too late.

Derrick Jensen, activist, author, and philosopher, is the author of Endgame, volumes one and two; A Language Older Than Words; and The Culture of Make Believe (a finalist for the 2003 J. Anthony Lukas Book Prize), among other books. Jensen’s writing has been described as “breaking and mending the reader’s heart” (Publishers Weekly).

Activist and artist Stephanie McMillan began syndicating her daring political cartoons in 1999. Since then her work has appeared in dozens of publications and has been exhibited in museums across the country. A book based on her comic strip, Minimum Security, was published in 2005.

Save the Earth Science Experiments: Science Fair Projects for Eco-Kids
Going green is a hot topic…and a hot science fair project. Author and scientist Elizabeth Snoke Harris knows what impresses, and she provides plenty of winning ideas, along with step-by-step guidance to insure that the end result is a success. Show how to harness energy with windmills, make a biogas generator, and create alternative fuels. Demonstrate green power with recycled paper, solar building, and compact fluorescent light bulbs. Test the ozone, be a “garbage detective,” and discuss how to reverse global warming.
The importance of what children learn will go even beyond the science fair: they’ll have the knowledge to understand what’s happening to Planet Earth…and the desire to do something eco-friendly every day.

Green Homes

Modern technology has certainly served us well in our homes. Today we have natural gas lines, electricity, air conditioning, microwaves, hot water, hot running water, refrigeration, and all the modern amenities. But we also use a lot of energy. Now engineers are working on high tech appliances that are ultra-super efficient. It is truly amazing the quality of life we can live for such low costs.

Still, I've always thought that the ancient cultures who dug tunnels underground and allowed wind blowing into one end of the tunnel with outlets into the living area for air-cooling were wise, and that was a form of air-conditioning and it didn't take any energy once the tunnels for ventilation were created. No it wasn't perfect, but it worked. Even the American Indians built Kivas to stay cool in the hot summers and many of them had devised various rudimentary forms of air cooling vent systems.

Now we are looking at ways to create green homes using alternative energy technologies and it seems that distributive energy makes sense doesn't it. We need to be both efficient and wise when it comes to our power needs, at least this is what the expert believe, and I suppose both you and I concur completely.

Solar water obviously makes sense, as even if you can get the water to outside ambient temperature or close, you've saved a huge amount of energy heating it from the underground temps where the pipes are of 55-degrees, and heating water one degree takes a good amount of energy if you use any volume at all. Anytime we can devise simple systems and tricks of physics to help us with our technology we are miles ahead. So, we need both ancient and modern technology to live well and maintain our quality of life, please consider that.

Solar Panels For Home Use

Solar panels for home use are now not only widely manufactured, but the pace in which they are being adopted is picking up pace too. Many people are now concerned about issues such as global warming, energy efficiency, carbon emissions, doing what we can to help protect and preserve our environment. They may also have heard that this method of powering the home is not only friendly to the environment but will also lead to huge savings in electricity costs too. But they didn't look any further into it as they thought it would be way too expensive and complicated.

In fact it is so straightforward that once many people discover how simple and affordable this really is, they decide that they will be happy to trade off the time and effort for the huge cost savings they will make. And then they go out and purchase the necessary materials to create and install their own solar panels for home use themselves. As they discovered, for less than $50 you can learn everything you need to know about how to do this!

Going sun powered will seriously reduce your electricity costs by 70% upwards. And less electricity costs amounts to hundreds and perhaps thousands of additional money you will have saved each year and can now spend on other things. And this is the way it will be for the years ahead too - amazing.

If you've not looked into this already, then now when everyone is looking to save money and offset costs is as good a time as any to get educated on one of the best and smartest ways of saving money there is. For less than $50 you can discover how simply and easily you can build and install your own solar panels for home use today.

Andrea Attache is highly enthusiastic about green issues and solar energy, seeing a win-win between long term cost savings and doing a part to preserve the environment. Discover how you can go solar at Buy Solar Panels for Homes.

We are all increasingly feeling the need to help the environment in the face of global warming. Most people would like to "go green," but think that it would be more expensive to change their ways than just carrying on as always.

Well, the good news is that you can save money while staying green. You can adopt all kinds of environmentally friendly habits that will keep a sizable portion of your hard earned money firmly in your pocket.

Isn't that the best of both worlds? You get to do your bit for the good of mankind, spending less in the process.

Of course, you need to know all the best strategies. Some of them are obvious and touted by everyone who preaches the green life.
However, there are lots of little known ways to make a huge difference that very few people talk about. It is mainly those kinds of strategies that this ebook concentrates on.
Even if the worst predictions of our planet's fate from man-made global warming fails to actually come about, we can all benefit greatly by adopting green measures. Earth's resources are for all to enjoy and we should not be wasting them, even when there appears to be plenty to go round.

Some of the statistics stated in this ebook may shock you. It shocked me too. It soon becomes obvious that we humans are a wasteful lot, or at least we have been. But there will never be a better time than now to change your ways, go green and save green at the same time.

Even if you only take up one single tip from this ebook, that will be worth it. There are 125 green strategies in this ebook to help you save your money and still be green, so you have little excuse not to start doing several of them - or all of them!
